CC's dream dinner party

Don't these people sound incredibly cool?

Sigh. If only we UUs could sound like this when we discuss these issues. (OK, these guys are professionals, but still...)

CC

Ps. One of these days, I'm going to hire somebody to redesign this blog. For now, I'm futzing with design stuff. If you see something you especially like/dislike, comment me.

PPs. Here's another quirky religion story.

I'm diggin' the block capitals. Makes me realize thath I miss my little metallic block "ding" at the start of posts in my old design.

Keep 'em.

I didn't read the entire exchange, but I disagree with the one who says you have to decide whether there really is a God before you can study religion. I don't think you have to at all. If you are studying religion as a psychological or sociological phenomenon, it is completely irrrelevant whether God exists or not -- the effect depends not on God's existance but on people's belief.
I agree that "science" should study the phenomenon of religion. It is certainly influential -- both good and bad.
As to the second story -- I wonder if one of the churches he is going to visit is UU? I would guess not.

Agreed on the block capitals. But now when I read your blog in Mozilla Firefox, all the sidebar ends up on the bottom. Are you viewing in IE?
