Most over-the-top restaurant website ever

I'm meeting Sarah-the-Extrovert for dinner tonight and was looking at the restaurant's website for directions.

It's actually really nicely done and beautiful, but something about the... well... anyway, it made me laugh. Turn on your speakers.

Tell me if you react the same way.

It sounds like funeral music.

What the hell? That music didn't make me want to eat - it made me wonder what was happening with the folks from Days of Our Lives.

Okay page, but didn't like the way the food was "breathing." Especially since it seemed to be seafood.

mildly amusing website. Expensive food.
the chef always says 'I'm a simple cook, I just use great ingredients" and then you look at the picture and the food is as handled and composed as a Victorian aspic.

Yikes, hope you had a good dinner. I couldn't make the page go away---even when I pressed the back button I kept getting the awful music and The Page with the Living Cuisine.

Flash abuse! The music put me off.

I'm wondering if the food lived up to the music....

Oh my heavens. I expect you aren't asking for an accessibility or usability analysis. But since you're asking for reactions, I'd say it's dreadful. It's Flash puffery. Of course, chances are it doesn't much matter, since people wouldn't be using the site for much aside from the basics, i.e. finding the place and looking to see if the menus appeal. It's not like a church site or blog, where such things matter a great deal.
