Nora Ephron with fangs

When CC lived in New Orleans, Anne Rice promoted one of her vampire books by staging an elaborate jazz funeral with herself in a coffin as the corpse.

That was a lame cry for attention.

It's going to take a lot to convince me that this isn't one too.

Eh, she's kinda weird. That level of weirdness casts a pall over everything she does. But I may just break down and read the book, because I stopped reading her vampire crap.

It know little about her, other than having read a few of her books- do you have reason to believe she's not sincere?

she refers to Christ as "the ultimate supernatural hero ... the ultimate immortal of them all."

Except this time, you drink his blood.

Maybe she'll do some crossover, and have a teenage Jesus fight vampires.

I think I read that book already and it was called Biff, or something (satire, but good one-- written from the perspective of Jesus's childhood friend Biff).

I could tell from reading Memnoch the Devil that Anne was just ripe for a big Jesus thing. She's incredibly gooey that way.

Well, whatever. She had a huge health crisis and anything can happen when you're staring down the White Light.
