Just because you're really smart and think you know better

doesn't mean the rules of society weren't made for a reason.

I've lived this comic in several different areas of life. I think I know better now.

Well, probably not.

(Click on comic to read rest of comic. Sorry, my blog doesn't deal well with horizontal things.)

I agree with G.K. Chesterton that the person who wants to change the rules must first indicate that he understands why the rules were made that way in the first place. Unlike the kind of people who usually quote Chesterton, however, I apply that to economic as well as social change.

Also, I wonder if the comic is referencing the diastrous Open Source Boobs Project.

I don't know if the comic is referencing the Open Source Boobs Project, something I gave neither heat nor light at the time, but that link is the best writeup of it I've ever seen.

Oh, and once people know what the Open Source Boobs project is, they must become familiar with the Open Source Swift Kick to the Balls Project.

Much love for xkcd, as always. That comic is sort of where I am right now, but I'm trying to approach the complicated in simple ways. For me, complication causes paralysis.

Will definitely be looking up Open Source Boobs Project.

I always just assumed that the drama is part of foreplay for us as a species. And gives us something to do between sex and eating, and talking about sex and eating.

the boobs thing was weird, but the kick in the balls thing was great satire.
Is my viewpoint skewed?
