Thanks for sharing. Humor is just so effective - and I do admit to getting a kick out of vulgar language. Listening to NPR too much has created a craving for cusswords and voices that don't sound like someone is trying to appear calm in front of children

You've found the right blog, friend.

The last bit reminded me of something that Maggie Gallagher and other anti-SSM folks were getting hysterical about, when a Massachusettes man with a SSM was asked whether gay couples thought differently about sexual fidelity, and he said they're "for the most part monogamous, but for maybe a casual three-way." (The anti-SSM folks naturally trumpeted this as one of the ways in which SSM would destroy traditional marriage.) The person who told me about this thought the pro-SSM guy was just taking the piss out of the questioner, but I think there's probably a little truth to it for some male SS couples.

I do think SSM might change "traditional" marriage by breaking down its gender norms, but given that even in couples where the spouses make the same money in paid employment, most women still end up doing more domestic work, I'm all in favor of having SSM wreck that particular tradition. I suppose the disconnect is that people who worry about SSM's messing up traditional marriage think traditional marriage was and is awesome, and I'm more skeptical.
