Sleepy weekend.

When you take stock of your week, and you ask yourself who on the internet has reduced your faith in humanity and made you want to quit trusting people, helping them out or otherwise reaching out, and despite his best efforts Phil comes in a solid third, that's a really bad sign. At the very least, it's a sign that you spend too much time on the internet.

In other news, I went out the other night with my writing group, which includes my favorite ex-boyfriend. He and I have known each other for 14 years, which feels like a tremendous length of time when you're 28.
We talked over some of the issues I've had with various people and he said some useful things that put things in perspective. Also, he likes to tease me as if I'm still in my slutty wild period. As I'm now in a chubby dour period, this feels pretty adorable.

And folks liked my story.

Other that, I've been pretty boring this weekend.

Ps. My housewife, Lily VonHarnack, has won the Desperate Housewives game. But I also did some painting this weekend and cooked some yummy meals. Tonight, we're having pork roast.

Isn't it great to have a favorite ex-boyfriend? They still love us, think we're beautiful and sexy, and we don't have to do anything about it except appreciate them. I love my favorite ex-boyfriend Gil for those very reasons.

I hope the coming week is a better one for you, CC. You deserve it after tussling with the legendary Phil. It was a good effort and you deserve a halo---or at least a tiara.

Oh Phil and I go way back, and again, of the people who depressed me last week, he came in third.

Fourth if you count George Allen, which I'm not sure you should.

And yes, ex-boyfriends rock. This one is kind of like a non-pathological sibling to me.

Von Harnack?

Nice touch.

You know I mentioned that just so somebody would come along and appreciate it.

So who's the next one going to be, Morticia Schleiermacher?

My vote would be Heloise Abelard.

I kind of appreciate George Allen. He at least balances out Democratic stupidity a little.

Apart from CC's sacrilege, Adolf von Harnack's name should come up more often. I would like to see a seminar which would start with his "The Essence of Christianity"
as an exposition of what was liberal Christianity at the beginning of the 20th century
(the real German name of his classic book named "What is Christianity?" in English) and go to Leo Baeck's Jewish response "The Essence of Judaism" and the several other Catholic etc. responses. It would make a good starting point for a
paper, but perhaps would be hard to put over as a sermon.
