I had a drag show period of my life when I went to drag shows all the time. Since then, I've tried several times to explain drag shows, why they are cool and how drag queens are way more than just figures of fun and/or men making fun of crossdressers.
Anyway, PB does the same, with great eloquence, here.

I've been to a few drag shows, and enjoyed the environment, and the performances, but not the appearance of most drag queens. Something about "masks" really bugs me. Whatever it is causes me to feel uneasy at the sight of clowns, child beauty queens, mimes, kabuki masks, people at masquerades, ventriloquist dummies, and even large dolls (except for the ones made of fabric or yarn; those don't bother me).
Maybe it's the appearance of makeup, or not knowing what the person really looks like underneath it all. I've also never found anything humorous or entertaining about men dressed as women (or vice versa). There was a guy at my former job who would come every year at Halloween dressed as a woman and so many people got such a kick out of it because he was a religious, staid kind of guy. He would really ham it up. I just didn't get it.
But I did like Priscilla, Queen of the Desert.
h sofia -- It sounds to me like you are reacting to the genuineness or lack of it. In Priscilla, that was pretty much who they were, weird as it was....
They're fun, but I hate that they don't go on until 1 am and and don't finish up until 4.
*sings* The old grey mare, she ain't what she used to be.
CK- If you're ever in New Orleans, check out Angles in Metairie. Great show that starts at 9 on Fridays. Buy Monica Storm a shot of apple pucker and request "Goldfinger."
HS- If it helps, it's not men dressed as women per se, it doesn't amuse me when frat boys do it. I like the ones that are so convincing that the straight men in the audience find that their anatomy is a little confused.
The drag queens I've known have put on an awesome show.

Anon - maybe that's what it is. I have wondered about it for a long time.
