Never ever.

We're at the Chaliceparents' house. TheCSO is fixing their furnace. CC, unqualified in furnace repair, is making conversation.

CC: Hey ma? You've lived in DC all your life. Do you ever remember an event that so filled the mall that people who wanted to attend were turned away?

TheChaliceMom: Never. Never, never, ever. Fourth of Julys are never like this, that big concert on New Years in 2000* wasn't like this. I was taking your brother to the Metro so he could get to work today, and at 5:00 a.m. there was a line of cars all the way down Haycock road as people were trying to park at the Metro station. The Million Man march? Not like this. The march on Washington either. I've never seen anything like this.

Wow.

* Free Will Smith concert.

Wow!

Newly sworn in U.S. President Barack Obama *could* have been "less than diplomatically" acting as a spokesperson for, and/or speaking out on behalf of The Emerson Avenger when he uttered these "less than diplomatic" words in his Inaugural Address today:

"To those who cling to power through corruption and deceit and the silencing of dissent, know that you are on the wrong side of history; but that we will extend a hand*if* you are willing to unclench your fist."

Everybody knows who The Emerson Avenger is thinking about.

Himself.

I think he was referring to Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich. Who's no longer the buddy to Rahm and Barack he once was...but he's still clinging hard despite efforts to send him the prison in Duluth.

bill,

I look forward to the coming revelations about President Obama that you've promised Rezko and Blagojevich will serve up. Too late to prevent his election, obviously, but still in plenty of time to weaken his mandate for the first term.
