Add to the list of strange law school dreams I've had...

A very vivid dream that I got a C minus in civil procedure.

Now dreaming about getting bad grades in classes I'm taking is not terribly unusual. (Cf. Last semester's Corporations dream where the professor wanted to meet with me and told me I was getting a D. When I protested that we hadn't had any tests, quizzes or assignments in the semester so far, he snapped "I just know!") The weird thing here is that I finished my civil procedure class last May. And while I would hardly say I was the Erie Doctrine rockstar, I did significantly better than a C minus.

FortiesGirl's father has been a doctor for decades and still has the occaisional med school nightmare, so I guess I should just accept that this is going to happen every now and again from this point forward...

I don't have dreams about bad grades... I have dreams of going into a calculus final having forgotten to attend any of the classes.

These dreams stay with you throughout your life...coming and going in frequency.

sorry...

Um. Is that supposed to be a BAD dream?

;)

The Math Guy has a point. Not attending classes and just showing up for the final is what I did for my Freshman Comp class.

Don't be too annoyed by me. My bad dreams are of MY STUDENTS trying to do that. One tried to do it last semester, except that he apparently forgot to come to the final too.

Really.

I'm not annoyed in the least.

Except maybe at that student for wasting everybody's time.

Hey, his (parent's) money, no?

On second thought, he may be an athlete, so he would get cash from the college.

Sigh.

Does he teach at the same place you went to school?

Yes, he was my husband's advisor and he and I have been good friends since my junior year in college, which is before I met my husband.

It's a complicated world.

I have, for the past couple of years, been having frequent dreams about high school. The most common scenario when they started was that it turned out that through some sort of oversight I had not actually graduated so I had to go back and take some more classes.

Lately the dreams have involved stress about papers and assignments listed on the syllabus that haven't been discussed in class at all (and thus I have not completed). But the fun twist is that somewhere in the past six months or so I've started shrugging off all stress in these dreams with a "what do I care, I have a master's degree already so my grades don't matter; I just need to pass." Now if I could just get my brain to grasp that once you have an MA high school doesn't matter at all (and wouldn't even if I really hadn't graduated).

Of course I'd probably still have the I don't know my locker combination dreams.
