Does the blogosphere seem louder to you?

Hoo boy, Robin Edgar has a blog.

CC
who has seen Robin write many insightful and cool things that aren't about how wronged he is, and hopes to see lots of those. But early indicators are not good.

Cant say Ive ever heard of him, and know nothing of his history -- but certainly glancing at the website in question -- I can only think of two things 1) Hate is a pretty powerful emotion that blinds us, and forgiveness is a gift from the Divine.
2) UU is alot more powerful that I though. and larger too.

Hate is indeed a pretty powerful emotion that blinds, and indeed binds, rather too many UUs. . .

Has anyone ever bothered to ask the Church why Robin's membership was revoked? It is my understanding that to ask someone to leave a religious community is a VERY serious matter, not taken lightly. It would be enlightening, to say the least, to learn why he was asked to leave, and why the Church refuses to engage in any dialogue with him. I am sure that the church's reasons would be most revealing.

What I find appalling and incredulous is that on all the blogs and at Beliefnet, no one has ever even bothered to contact the Church to ask them their side of the story. They do have a website, a telephone number, and a fax machine.

Not that I am aware of. . . Most of the U*Us I know much prefer to engage in sincere ignorance and deep denial without ever engaging in a genuinely free and responsible search for the truth and meaning behind why my membership was revoked. . . I have actually repeatedly urged U*Us to do what you are suggesting here but they always find some excuse to do nothing.

:It is my understanding that to ask someone to leave a religious community is a VERY serious matter, not taken lightly.

Indeed it should be but in this instance the process was highly manipulated by the leaders of the Unitarian Church of Montreal. It was very much a "kangaroo court". . .

:It would be enlightening, to say the least, to learn why he was asked to leave,

Indeed it would but not in the way that you and other wishful thinking people might like to believe. . . Under the clear light of day it would rapidly become abundantly evident that the Unitarian Church of Montreal cynically manipulated the democratic process to thoroughly pervert justice, and exercised outrageously hypocritical double standards that made a complete mockery of equity and compassion in human relations. . .

:and why the Church refuses to engage in any dialogue with him.

Very good question. . . Why indeed does the Unitarian Church of Montreal obstinately refuse to engage in ANY dialogue with me? Could it possibly be because if they did that the embarrassing and damaging truth about their flagrant disregard for, and outright violation of, U*U principles and purposes to say nothing of their fraudulent "mission statement" would become glaringly obvious to all concerned?

:I am sure that the church's reasons would be most revealing.

Indeed they would. They would be most revealing of their outrageous hypocrisy. . .

:What I find appalling and incredulous is that on all the blogs and at Beliefnet, no one has ever even bothered to contact the Church to ask them their side of the story.

I too find this U*U sincere ignorance "appalling and incredulous". . . In fact I have repeatedly suggested that U*Us do exactly that but they all found excuses to do nothing.

:They do have a website, a telephone number, and a fax machine.

Indeed they do and I have in fact provided all that info to U*Us on Beliefnet in the past and encouraged them to get the Church's side of the story because I knew that whatever they said, other than admit the highly embarrassing truth of course. . . I could produce documents and other evidence or honest testimony that would show they were telling misleading half-truths and outright lies. . . Just like I did very recently on my blog.
