That story certainly brings the whole parable to life in a way that the original text never could. Other churches would be wise to learn from its example.
The story from Chagrin Falls is fun; I am reminded that I went to high school with at least four people from that village, some of whom are still probably there (I recognized one name). I would be grateful if someone would explain to me why some ministers make a point of talking about Jesus's parables, like the one about the talents, around Epiphany. It is probably just a piece of my defective Christian acculturation.

That is an amazing story. I get so excited about the thriving religious life of America when I read about ministers and congregations like that.
