class is something we're trying to move past, but at the same time
there's something completely awesome about sitting in a museum
watching a documentary and realizing that the expert who is talking on
the screen brought green beans to your last church potluck.

"I know that our image as the church of the overeducated upper middle class is something we're trying to move past,"
Well it's my pleasure to help U*Us move past that image CC with my own U*UTube documentary videos. ;-)
That's nothing- there's a wing of our art museum named after someone in my church.
Oh, I don't doubt that there are lots of UUs who have done impressive things, Joel.
The fun part about this was that it was a total surprise. I didn't even know this lady personally or that she was an expert on anything, though I certainly recognized both name and face when she was on the screen in front of me.
Ah! Yes, that sort of thing IS fun- I remember the time I saw a highschool classmate in a television commercial. Big shock- heck, he hadn't even been in theater back then.
