So I'm cruising Facebook and I get a note that one of my YRUU padawans has joined a facebook group called "Against Gay Marriage? Then Don't Get One and Shut the Fuck Up"
Someone else I know is in a group called "Che Guevara was a murderer and your t-shirt is not cool"
Succinct. I like them.

It's had to get more succinct than my UNSAFE SECT? picket sign slogan. . . ;-) I am seriously considering removing the question mark from it.
Yep, as I look at the kids I know, I think things might get better after all. Your YRUUs sound great and my pre-YRUUs are right behind them.
I'm not a big fan of Che Guevara but I am hip to the irony of the t-shirts on so many different levels. It's a good example of cottage industry capitalism and the guy who took the photo has never seen a dime from all those t-shirts and photos.
I can believe you are hip to the irony, but I suspect a random survey of Che-shirt-wearers would reveal that the majority had no idea they were being ironic.
I have known several completely earnest hippy Che fans.

You can call me evil, but lately that just adds to my enjoyment of the Che Guevara t-shirts and photos. I enjoy reading your blog, may I propose an exchange of links on the blogroll?
Are you familiar with an organization called "The League of Pissed Off Voters"?
My husband was like "Che Guevara killed hippies, that's why I wear his t-shirt" and we laughed.
But neither of us would actually wear one of those shirts.

One of my brothers hates hippies, and admires Che. I'm neutral about Che, but leaning on the side of sympathetic. But I haven't read as much about him as my brother has.
