And as someone who has watched her share of American Idol, I have to say that the editing could not be more perfect. I can only imagine what it was like to have seen it on TV with no hint of what was to come.

When did this happen? Is she singing professionally now? Makes you wonder how she could reach 47 without anyone noticing she could sing like that. This was true, wasn't it? Please?
You can hear a recording she did for a local charity CD here -- she really does have an amazing ability, I thought perhaps she was just a Les Miserables high note Broadway kind of voice, but she does a very nice "Cry Me a River."

It was true. It's real. Her name is Susan Boyle and you can google her.
