djd: Huck's son's behavior may not bear on the current candidacy of his father, but Huckabee's behavior in firing a government employee for not helping him exert undue influence in a case is certainly relevant to judging the character of the man. Beyond that, youths who perpetrate torture on animals often turn out to be sociopaths. This may not be relevant to the campaign, but it would make one avoid the son.
Government is full of such "I'll-scratch-your-back-if-you-scratch-mine" tactics. Until I get more details than this, I'm going to refrain from judging him too harshly. So long as it we have a he-said versus he-said kind of situation, I'm uncomfortable that I can make a completely informed decision. I'm expecting more to come out on Huckabee now that he's the GOP front.
Anyone who tortures an animal is certainly far from a stellar human being.
Because of a recent ton of spam and weird insulting comments from a brand-new poster, I'm putting in comment moderation for a bit. I'm planning to do comment moderation "Ms. Kitty Style," as in, with a very light touch and kicking only off-topic and unreasonably insulting posts.
This event happened almost 10 years ago. The son was 17. Why is that relevant to Mike Huckabee's campaign? And why should we care?

and of course our hostess, CC, said to add the son to the list of 'eww...", she didn't say anything about the father.
ReplyDeleteIt seems to be a lot of here-say without any sort of evidence for either side. I cannot form any judgement....
ReplyDelete..aside from the fact that in that picture he looks totally unf*(kable
kim: my only concern is that people (not cc, but reporters in general) dig up this stuff when really they should focus on the issues at hand.
