Why is Sparks' weight ANYBODY'S business but her own?

Jamie, I'm not sure I agree with what you are implying. Over-fatness is a recognized contributor to Type 2 Diabetes. A random person with too much fat is not necessarily less healthy than another random person who is skinny, but being over-fat does put one more at risk for certain types of illnesses.

Also, there is a big difference between ten pounds "overweight" and 100 pounds overweight. The 540 pound man I used to work with was absolutely unhealthy. And his weight was the major cause of this. Obviously a thin person can also be unhealthy, but I don't see it as an either/or issue.LaReinaCobrehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13554970165949410961noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9864334.post-83748370976304407522007-05-30T23:03:00.000-04:002007-05-30T23:03:00.000-04:00There's a lot out there about how discrimination a...There's a lot out there about how discrimination against people who are perceived as overweight is considered acceptable because being overweight is considered a choice (much as many people still believe that homosexual orientation is a choice and therefore a fair ground on which to discriminate).

But yes, that woman is an idiot.
