The most unusual thing about this house is that McMansion buyers typically want green space to go with it. This lot maximizes indoors and minimizes outdoors. There must be a narrow market for such places, especially one shoehorned into a neighborhood of older conventional homes.
Oh, and construction on this house started at least three years ago! It had stalled for about two years, and Forties Girl and I dubbed it the "aborted house".

Huh, I don't find that to be true at all. For one thing, the term "McMansion" is generally applied to large houses that occupy most of a normal-sized lot, leaving very little green space. If you can have a 10,000+ sq. ft. house and a big lawn separating you from the road and the neighbors, you probably have a genuine mansion.
Because of a recent ton of spam and weird insulting comments from a brand-new poster, I'm putting in comment moderation for a bit. I'm planning to do comment moderation "Ms. Kitty Style," as in, with a very light touch and kicking only off-topic and unreasonably insulting posts.
