The latest Facebook group my YRUU kids are joining

"NOT MY DAUGHTER, YOU BITCH!" : Mrs. Weasley Appreciation Group

Mrs. Weasley is just really hardcore. She's an awesome cook, a good mom, really good at yelling, and she called Bellatrix Lestrange a bitch. She deserves a high five.

Can't argue with that.

CC
who came to much the same conclusion and had considered going to a Halloween party with the CSO as the Weasely parents, assuming she could get him dye his hair reddish with dye that washes out. Going around observing the Muggles in their strange holiday rituals would be worth the price of admission and CC would enjoy making wands and muggle studies books.

Okay, okay, I've finished the book and I did end up liking it a lot, especially Mrs. Weasley's whomping on Bellatrix.

I have no idea what the significance of sumo wrestling is to this conversation.

And given that Bellatrix Lestrange had killed a bunch of people, I'd say she herself is evidence that some people are bitchier than others.

I LOVE Mrs. Weasley. I've known several Mrs. Weasleys in my life. She's that wonderful mom that welcomed everyone over and "adopted" the kids who had sucky home lives. With her own kids, she's their greatest fan and also the hardest on them when they need a foot in their backs. And is very protective. Everyone should have one person in their life who is overly protective of them, and really, isn't it the mom's domain? She's the mom at church who, rather than bitching about someone else's kid, steps in front of him and say, "NO, Timothy, WE DON'T RUN IN CHURCH."

Not that I'm biased.

It just dawned on me...

My parents were the (a set of) Weasley parents. My friends got along well with them and adored my mother. Before my wife and I were married... even involved, really... she says she wished they could adopt her (and get rid of me...).

And yes, my mother could--and did--use that kind of language.
